First Post

Here's my first post. I'm not exactly sure what my end goal is with this blog, but I just wanted somewhere to share my experiences with vehicles. I'm not the best at working on them, but I tend to figure things out. I'm in the process of bringing back to life a 1995 Mercedes C280. It's almost there, but just needs a few more things to get it to pass inspection and up to my standards. I hope to post something on that soon.

So far, I've done the following:

  • Replaced the battery
  • Replaced the steering column lock and ignition key tumbler (old one was drilled out)
  • Replaced the starter (wouldn't start)
  • Rewired the transmission harness (old harness was degraded)
  • Replaced the PSE module (none of the door locks worked)
  • Replaced the comfort control module (rear windows didn't work)
  • Replaced the coolant reservoir (broken overflow nipple)
  • Replaced the hood struts
  • Replaced the washer fluid reservoir (cracked, but the pump doesn't work)
  • Fluids
    • Oil
    • Coolant
    • Brake fluid
  • Replaced pads, rotors, and calipers on all 4 wheels (a few calipers were stuck)
  • Installed the shift linkage bushings (old ones were non existent)
  • Got the car detailed inside and out (didn't feel like doing this myself)

I think that's all. And now, I'm waiting for a new wheel hub to arrive. The old bearings were wore out and had some play on the drivers side front wheel. I'm hoping this will be the final thing before getting it inspected, although I have a list of other things I want and need to do.
